Goodbye Kuwait

I keep saying this again and again… I hate leaving a place that I got attached to… the fact that I have to say goodbye to people is hard for me to get used to.

I feel lucky because I had the chance to meet all of you in this lifetime. It was extraordinary, and still is. If I did anything wrong, I’m sorry. Thank you for coming into my life, and letting me enjoy my life a little bit more with your company and friendship. I feel so grateful for what I achieved this year, awards at a local awards ceremony and a bronze at the Dubai Lynx. Also, designing the guideline for an international brand and working on nice clients/accounts and giving all I can while I’m still an undergraduate. El7amdellah! I never saw it coming! I think I have faith now, I really want to thank everyone for the good times and from the bottom of my heart, I will miss you guys.

I will miss all of you, especially the ones I got closer to recently. I wish you the best in life and I hope to see you again one day and visit me whenever you can, you’re welcome in your second home, Jordan (since I’m not planning to come back to Kuwait, not for the next 2 years at least).

I will also miss hanging out at the avenues, shopping with my friends, eating out at chili’s, having shisha at the most awkward cafes, cruising on the gulf road, fixing my hair at spaloon, sleeping over at friends’ places, going to sultan center and buying things I don’t need for no specific reason, watching censored movies at the cinemas, expensive rates for phone calls… no I’m kidding! I always miss Kuwait for reasons unknown.

I leave you with some documented memories as in images of what is going to be good ol’ times.

Oh and the Pussycat Dolls were in Kuwait.

I’m so random, I know.

Review: Batman, The Dark Knight

“Wanna know how I got these scars?”

I can say I was completely blown away! Not just the best Batman movie ever made, this is one of the best movies this year. Everything in this film is excellent, not one piece of annoyance.

Ledger has made The Joker in to an iconic movie villain. This is the true Joker every Batman fan knows, loves and fears. Ledger deserves any and every movie award known to man for this brilliant display. He was so good at that part it made me feel bad he’s dead now.

PHENOMENAL, summing it all up in one word.

Nolan’s directing is sublime, he managed to keep us, the audience enthralled in an almost 3 hour movie. There were several shots in the film that had me saying “Now how in the hell did they do that?!”, Brilliant scores by James Newton Howard and Hans Zimmer.

Every actor shines, no one person steals the film.

I don’t want to say much about it, because whatever is said cannot do it justice, there is enough hype surrounding it’s release, but it’s there for a reason. Top Notch film.

Rates 5/5 on my scale (first time ever I guess?)

Review: The Strangers

“ALLAH YAKHTHEK KHALDOOO!”

All I can say at the moment, This movie will make me walk to my house scared once I go back to Amman. The Strangers is not a horror movie, but a good suspense one, one of those, “even scarier because it could actually happen” movies.

No super powers, no living after death, no invincible serial killer… it’s all right here in reality. Camera is also kind of unstable to give you a real feeling, as always, that’s what makes a scary movie significant in 99.9% cases

Young couple (LIV TYLER & SCOTT SPEEDMAN) go to his parents isolated vacation home for the night. Arriving late at night, they’re not in the house for long before some little girl starts knocking the door asking for something… Strange sounds, moved objects, a young girl at the front door at 4 am looking for an unknown.

I won’t say anything more about the plot because I don’t want to spoil it for you. I will say that the movie pulls you in from the beginning. The main characters in the film are sensible with the situation for the most part; unlike so many horror movies where the would be victims are constantly doing stupid things making it easier for the killers.

I don’t want to spoil the movie, Liv Tyler and Suspense… If you are even the least bit interested in JUST SUSPENSE, SEE THIS MOVIE!!!

Scores 4.5/5 on my scale.
