Kylie Minogue, the Australian pop star, is reportedly being paid $3.5 million for a 60-minute performance at the grand opening of The Atlantis resort in Dubai.
No expense is being spared at the opening party of the flagship resort on The Palm Jumeirah, according to British newspaper reports which suggest the party will be one of the most expensive ever staged, costing $28 million.
As well as Kylie’s gig, there will be a firework display by Grucci, the company behind the Beijing Olympic firework display. While catering and further entertainment will cost another $2.6 million.
Four Michelin-starred chefs Giorgio Locatelli and Nobu Matsuhisa will also be cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
Reports also suggest that the guestlist, which will include politicians, actors, musicians and royalty, will be flown in from around the world and will be given free accommodation at the resort. That is costing $8,700 per person – a further $17.5 million.

The Dutchess Fergie (of the Black Eyed Peas) is going to perform an exclusive concert in Dubai, Friday the 16th of May at the Festival City.
I would love to see Fergie live, I’ve watched many videos and they’re good so far… maybe I’ll make it one day, when my blog starts making me good money.
Fergie has been a member of The Black Eyed Peas for nearly five years, since they became a global sensation with the release of their third album “Elephunk” followed by their first #1 pop/ #1 R&B crossover album “Monkey Business” which spun off a trio of smash hits, “Don’t Phunk With My Heart”, “My Humps” – which became the first 2-million selling Master Tone of all time – and “Pump It.” The Black Eyed Peas are an international success story, having sold more than 18 million units worldwide.
In 2007, Fergie won “Favorite Female Artist (Pop/Rock)”at the American Music Awards; “Female Artist Of The Year” at the MTV Video Music Awards; and “Top Female Artist” at the Teen Choice Awards.

A source involved with the negotiations has stated, “Madonna is about to break another record by playing the most lucrative concert of her whole career – or anyone’s career for that matter.”
