Arabic Mac Keyboard for Windows 7

April 11th, 2010

Since the Arabic keyboard layout for Macs is different than the normal Arabic 101 for Windows, Microsoft came up with a solution for Windows XP, However Windows 7 didn’t have a solution and the XP one doesn’t work well.

So I basically created one for Windows 7.

Thanks for this, its great! I actually used it to print out the buttons onto stickers!! Although, I still use an online arabic keyboard sometimes, because its easier if I need to do ‘tashkeel’. I usually use http://www.arabic-keys.com, I find that works pretty well.

    Thanks Moe!

Thank you for providing us with what others (Microsoft/Apple) failed to. Excellent work!

One comment though, the Forward Slash is not working properly with Windows 7. When pressed, the Question Mark appears instead.

Kindly, send me an email with your response to this matter.

    Dear Moe,

Thanks for the great contribution. There is one issue with the “Madda” which come in an additional key beside “ظ” key in new MacBooks. This is very important in words like “الرحمن”.

    regards
