Would You Unfriend Your Ex on Facebook Pre-Valentine’s Day?
February 5th, 2011
Lifestyle site YourTango.com is appointing February 13th to be the “Break Up With Your Ex Day.”
YourTango used its Facebook Page and SurveyMonkey to survey 1,047 Americans about their thoughts on digital romance, and found that 48% of people said that they look at their ex’s social networking profiles too often.
From February 1st through 13th, the site is asking people to unfriend their exes on Facebook; unfollow them on Twitter, Foursquare, etc.; untag and delete snaps of said person; delete songs and playlists that remind one of one’s ex; block and erase him or her from one’s phone/e-mail/chat services; and hit the dating scene — hard.
The site is also providing Lonely Hearts with a Facebook Page replete with tools, virtual badges and gifts, and info to help users do the deed.
I think it is a weird idea, but this also happens on a bigger range, I sometimes remove co-workers from old jobs, some school mates that I don’t want to stay on my profile. But still, do you think it’s necessary to white-wash all exes from your life? Will you join YourTango’s passion purge?
This is what I need to know. and I’m all anti-valentine about it. Watch this video:

I am still friends with all of my exes on FB, I still have some of them on Skype and follow some of them on Twitter. But it is not without doubts. Especially the last ex who really messed me up – I have been very close to deleting everything about him. I was part of the 48% and I hated myself for it. I deleted all pictures from FB of him and I – but I forced myself to try to be grown up about it. Forcing myself not to make rash decisions – not to delete him completely from my life. If it was the right decision I do not know – and I can definitely understand people who chooses the dramatic solution. If you cannot stay away – then delete. For God’s sake delete!
Already did that. WOOHOO!
