SOPA is an Islamic law
January 20th, 2012
NOTE: This post doesn’t reflect the blogger/writer on this website, He is not concerned about religion at all. This post is about real facts!
SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) for those of you who don’t know is an American House bill to fight online trafficking in copyrighted intellectual property and counterfeit goods. Proposals include barring advertising networks and payment facilities from conducting business with allegedly infringing websites, barring search engines from linking to the sites, and requiring Internet service providers (ISP) to block access to the sites. The bill would criminalize the streaming of such content, with a maximum penalty of five years in prison.
Now, if you want to think of this seriously! It is a pure Islamic law, Because in Islam downloading movies, music, documents without paying for them while they’re payable is stealing and considered to be theft which is Haram/forbidden in Islam and counts as a sin. Stealing is included among the Greater sins in Islam “A believer cannot commit fornication and a believer cannot steal.” Thus one who fornicates or steals is not a believer. Such a person is devoid of faith. Such a person lacks belief in Allah and the Day of Judgement. If such a person dies without repenting for his sins, he does not die a believer. Some of the ayats and traditions that are critical of Khayanat also include stealing. Stealing is absolutely Haram even if it is for a worthless object. To steal even a needle is Haram. However, the hands of a thief are cut only, if in addition to all the necessary conditions the value of the stolen goods exceeds a quarter misqal of gold.
So, technically speaking. If you think you’re a Muslim and you’re downloading all sorts of piracy, including cracked software, illegal iOS apps on your phone and jail-breaking it and doing all that, it is Haram and you’re not a believer.

It seems like a funny post while it should be. however, what you said is not quite true “at all”.
let me remind you of what you did when someone stole a design you made, you still remember? I guess yes. My point is not you or me, BUT, rights… you Moe, you take care of your designs and you will always fight those who steal from you and that’s your right. but let’s be clear, I use cracked apps on my Mac and I wish I can pay for every app I use but unfortunately, I use app that. costs +1,000 USD.. I wish I can pay for not for now..
If I were the developer of a stolen app I will surely support SOPA and go around and fuck everyone using a pirated copy of my software no matter who. but because it’s not mine, I find it sexy to get everything free.
Finally, who told you that you die “unbeliever” if you did that? sorry to say it Moe, but that’s wrong and your understanding of the entire issue
of believer/unbeliever is wrong. sorry to say that but I have to give my full opinion with its full positivity an negativity.
-sorry if there is a/some spelling mistake(s), I am commenting from phone.
an just by the way, I don’t use pirated software on my iPhone, I pay for every single app and my iPhone is by even Jailbroken. Soon, I will be nice and pay for the Mac apps I use.
by the way, don’t you think it’s nice from Islam to protect rights of NON-MUSLIMS? that’s rare buddy
—no hints or remarks but just saying.
This person is the most haeckr of the world. No One can destroy him and know the information about him. He is around us everywhere and we can not see them. Then they will rule the world.
HAHAHA! Dude, you have me on Facebook, have you seen what did I fill as “religion”.
I’m just saying that SOPA is 100% Islamic.
Karma? Ohhh man I like this Pizzaa
hehehehe.. I am absolutely not making fun out of your Karma
Indeed
I wasted my time reading this gibberish .
ya i would just agree with Mohammad Badi, plus if you think of it … it is not the right thing to use cracked stuff, and it is supposes to be considered as illegal (though most of us using it) … and depending on your words … he will be a thief if he IS or IS NOT religious, and I guess all of us will consider it wrong act and yet all are doing it.
ya3ne I don’t know why you relate it to Islam at the first place !
Just proving a point Haitham.
well … your point should not be exclusive only on Islam, all I am saying … it IS wrong and we all KNOW that but we all DO … Muslim, Christian, Jew, Atheist, scientific, abu el 3abd, and even Karma ppl
and I agree with mohamad with this, and I quote:
” Finally, who told you that you die “unbeliever” if you did that? sorry to say it Moe, but that’s wrong and your understanding of the entire issue
of believer/unbeliever is wrong. sorry to say that but I have to give my full opinion with its full positivity an negativity.”
*hope we both are talking about the same point
I’m reposting this from Facebook because I feel I’ve made valid points – you will decide, I’m sure.
SOPA and PIPA isn’t designed to stop piracy, it’s designed to give certain Americans and their allies sovereignty over the internet. File-sharing will continue even if it goes backwards a step to pre-internet times. What might be affected is people sharing information freely, because all it would take is one person going onto an open-content site, placing “copyright material”, a commodity so vague and misunderstood that nearly anything, even singing karaoke, can be considered an infringement, and would cause the site to shut down. This won’t punish the uploader, but the person who owns the site, so if someone didn’t want news of certain demonstrations getting out (like, say the majority of the occupy movement – or did you think the timing was just a coincidence?), all they’d have to do is go online, post “copyright material” (in whatever form – a cat jumping to Disney’s Aristocats on a blurry TV, let’s say) and whatever website that is gets taken down until the “copyright material” is removed. Rinse and repeat.
Meanwhile, I would think you, in particular, wouldn’t want SOPA to go into effect. Your “Shu BBMk” and “Angry Bird” parody shirts are both violations of “copyright” (unless you paid for the rights?) and so you, too, would be shut down. Before you say “common property” or “fair usage”, you should realize that all it takes is a report to get you shut down, but unless you want to rebuild it, it takes a lot more to get it up and running again.
Finally, as far as Islam is concerned, we could argue that Islam (at least in its modern incarnation) might be for the infringement of civil liberties. Here are some other things Islam is for, however: Connecting (silat al-ra7m) is considered a tenet of Islam, and you’re not “really” a Muslim if you don’t connect with family or friends in some manner every three days. Even if I never infringe copyright ever, because my neighbor chooses to post a “Horny Hairy Potter” joke on his wall (“Hairy Potter” and his image in films is a copyrighted material, so photoshopping his image is infringement), Facebook, Google+, and/or Twitter could be taken out of commission, making me lose contact.
Also against Islamic values is monopoly (i7tikar, which is an Islamic violation – look it up). Many of us would love to legally download music and films – me, for example. With Google Music only JUST being created, and Napster and other sharing sites being edged out by iTunes and Hulu, both of which have regional restriction policies that ensure certain countries can’t get content, while other countries can only get content at certain times, few individuals become the gatekeepers for a vast amount of information, the most precious commodity in the current age. This is against Islamic law, because it removes risk from any of their dealings, it destroys competition by unfairly outbidding other providers, and it oppresses consumers who had no choice in what side of borders they didn’t draw they were born on. A cursory knowledge of Islamic finance would tell you that all three are against Islam.
Copyright infringement is a crime equal to stealing, but SOPA and PIPA is a crime five-fold in Islamic law, as well as just in general ethics. It is NOT being put forward in good faith, they DON’T care about piracy in drafting this law, but rather control, and someone who would want to be able to work on even ground with his competitors out there in the internet marketplace should be wary of making flippant remarks about something that could severely cripple us all.
ah, thats why i kept calm and asked, im surprised you atulalcy understand what dyslexia does though cos 75% of dyslexics atulalcy have no idea what the hell dyslexia atulalcy does. xD
