Review: Kitchenette

June 7th, 2010

The Kitchenette is a home-made food delivery service, established recently in Amman, catering to those wanting home-made food and whom are sick of fast food. Joking about the last food.

I heard about the a while back and I decided to give them a shot yesterday. The Kitchenette is run by Dalia Salah, with a set menu of 3 different options/meals daily, Dalia posts a new list every week, 5 days a week, meals are 4 JD each (including a soft drink), Orders are usually between 1pm-3pm.

This week’s set included: Chicken Tandoor with Rice and Red Sauce, Beef Stroganoff with White Sauce and Penne Arabiatta. I decided to order 2 meals, but Dalia was kind enough to send me the 3rd option to try. Order was right on time, 1:03pm exactly.

Let me start by saying that the portions were perfect, it could be for 2 people. I also loved the plastic plates, could easily use them in Microwave without melting or so, Also loved the simple packaging. I first opened the Penne, to be honest. I wiped it clean after 5 minutes, it was perfect, the pasta was perfectly boiled (not dry nor too boiled), the sauce was enough and covered the whole portion, also the olives. I instantly fell in love.

My friend came over for lunch and wiped his plate too, Stroganoff wasn’t strong enough to stay in the plate! I also heated the chicken later on and it was a perfect dinner. I will definitely order again! It was great value for money.

You guys can check this week’s list here or order by phone on 06 – 400 1200 and also check them on facebook as well.
