Review: Beit El-Fukhara

January 17th, 2012

I was recently invited to try Beit El-Fakhara, which is a new restaurant/cafe serving delicious Arabic food, items like Kufta with potatoes, Beans, Maqloba, Msakhan & Mansaf are served daily, great prices and a nice setup indeed.

I went there last Friday (where it was raining cats and dogs) and wished its worth going out in such weather. Arrived there around 3pm with 2 friends of mine, and our first impression was… WOW, the building from the inside doesn’t look anything like the outside, the restaurant has a really great design and is way bigger than you expect.

The menu had a really great variety of items, we were first served Muhammara, that vanished off the table in no time… I don’t usually trust such food anywhere, but this was too appealing for me to ignore.

I ordered the Msakhan dish. Usually, you don’t expect such dishes to be perfectly cooked outside the house and I’ve probably tried at least 6-7 Msakhan dishes by many family, friends and relatives mothers cooking but I can tell that I’ll be coming back to Beit El-Fukhara for Msakhan from now on. The onions, the flavor, the smell… it felt like my mother’s cooking at some point (that I terribly miss).

I really recommend you to try it out. I know for sure that I will be visiting again this week! I loved the place, loved the service and the atmosphere.

Rates: 4/5 (Parking on main road at this moment can be pain, but the place is almost flawless)
