Events Organizers in Amman, a call out here!

July 27th, 2010

This is maybe the first time I go to this level, but let me start with this, Events in Jordan aren’t successful and suck because of the following:

1- Most events are either couples only or group policy.
This is the first reason that makes us travel to Beirut or Damascus and attend events there, because no one tries to apply this rule on us there.

2- Events are outrageously overpriced.
Ferry Corsten’s event in Damascus including 2 drinks is for 18.5 JD, his previous event in Beirut was for 30$ including 2 drinks as well, while in Amman any event, like Tiesto’s goes for 60 JD with 1 drink, nice example?

3- Events are usually empty.
Because of reason #1, I mean our events are already expensive to enter, trust me… trouble makers or people who want to hook-up aren’t going to pay 60 JD for something they don’t like, so those “singles” you’re not letting in are good business and music appreciators.

4- Organizers are never honest about what they present.
Tickets and promos make you believe many things that do not happen, I’ve been to many events where the closing DJs play before the main artist instead, while keeping the artist late because the event sucks and you want people to stay in as much as possible.

5- Teenagers/Underage aren’t allowed, while inside you find them all over.
Practice what you preach guys, like seriously.

**6- Hijabis are allowed in some events and bars.
I swear, I could even get my whole gang to prove it with their little mobile cameras, I saw Hijabis drinking in some events. If you want to drink, don’t wear a Hijab, respect it.

** = personal reason.

At the end, events here are expensive and for some reason I enjoy traveling to Beirut or Damascus with friends besides them having better events, last week in the same day, Damascus had Gorillaz and Beirut had Faithless. We had nothing but some local deejays with egos up in the sky. Sorry guys! I’m being honest here.

Your honesty is really appreciated, And all you mentioned is true 100%. Waiting for the day where we can attend huge events for a reasonable ticket price! Which is unlikely to happen anytime soon but we always keep the hope.
