I wanted to comment on your previous post, but after hearing your description of your anonymous readers calling them SHIT, I really felt there is no use to exchange points of view, it is your blog and you can use whatever language you want to address others and they have the right to participate in the discussion or to refrain from reading your blog all together.

However, I expected more maturity out of someone who is a creative director, at least more sensitivity.

This comment is not intended as a personal attack.

    Good luck to you.

Heba, it is not nice from anonymous readers to attack my family or cuss them, those acting smart are shit indeed.

What if I call you from a private number and give you a lecture then hang up? would you like it? be in my place with daily attacks and have more “maturity”.

I’m an art director not a creative director as well. thanks for the comment!

  3. 3 Heba Shehadeh said at 12:11 PM on January 2nd, 2009:

I understand and i agree about anonymous readers, but you have chosen to blog and make it public, so you have to expect all sorts of people making all sorts of comments on your blog. if they are unworthy and have no manners the best thing is to ignore them, do not give them the pleasure of answering them back or even acknowledging them.

You see, I may disagree with you on so many things, but I always look at myself before I allow my self to attack you.

On a separate note, allow me to comment on the issue of Gaza and canceling new year’s events. I know it will not change anything in reality, but at least it will make Gazans feel that as helpless as we are we have a morsel of decency left to sympathize with them.

I know you did your share, you donated, which might be more than I or many of your blog readers did, but sometimes showing sympathy to a person in need might have more value than giving materialistic support. Imagine if someone helps you without even looking you in the eye, it is like saying: Here, I did my part, now حلّ عني!

There is a verse in Quran, Surat Al Baqarah:
قول معروف ومغفرة خير من صدقة يتبعها أذى)

Again, I’m not lecturing or attacking, just sharing my point of view.

    Thanks

And no, as a mother, I do not think I can have more “maturity” than you if someone verbally attacks my daughters. but then again this is why I do not dare start a blog :)

    Hi..

With all due respect, I don’t buy this argument, If you want to party, do it, but you don’t have to justify it, what I didn’t like particularly was the point about Amman bombings, I mean, there is no objectivity at all for all and any reason you might think of..

And you partying or not, its your personal freedom, nobody can stop you. But I don’t know why we have to know about it?!

  7. 7 Rebellious Arab Girl said at 5:23 PM on January 2nd, 2009:

I like it when you video cast and be your self for the world to see. It pisses them off. You really didn’t have to justify your self to a bunch of teenagers.

  8. 8 Rebellious Arab Girl said at 5:32 PM on January 2nd, 2009:

Also.. if you think you guys can complain to Moey about this.. why not complain about all the New Year’s Eve parties that were televised on some Lebanese channels with all those singers? Seriously, you guys need to look at the bigger picture and not complain to this one person. But you do because it is easier and you can get a quick reaction from him.

  9. 9 Nizar said at 7:09 PM on January 2nd, 2009:

Very true, there are innocent people dying all over the world daily from terrorist attacks, serial killers, traffic accidents, diseases etc…

Thinking about the people of Gaza and ignoring the rest of the victims of war crimes around the world in other developing countries is not fair, they should all be treated equally.

We try our best to support, help and protect them yet we try our best to live on with our lives.

  10. 10 marcon said at 8:23 PM on January 2nd, 2009:

i keep telling you to wear a jacket !!!

  11. 11 Shadz said at 8:49 PM on January 2nd, 2009:

I totally agree with catalyst, he has a point. Your personal freedom and actions are none of our business. You can do whatever you want, and I’m sure none of the people that attended your party judged you for a second. But simply, since you’re a blogger and you have enough experience with hate comments, then you should have just known better than trying to justify what you did. You should have just done what you wanted to, not told us about it, and saved yourself the videocast and the post before it, and we could have all moved on with your lives. You have to know Moey that most Palestinians who live here are very passionate about their country, very defensive when they sense any disrespect to their homeland. Hence, and since I’m sure you’re an intelligent person, you should have just thought about those points. But then again, it’s a blog. It’s supposed to be controversial, it’s supposed to have hate posts, and it’s supposed to generate a buzz =D more bandwith, haha.
Anyway, on both sides of the argument, both positive and negative posters will continue to read your blog, trust me on that. Everyone’s waiting for what Moey’s going to post next.

  12. 12 Amjad said at 11:58 PM on January 2nd, 2009:

I didn’t follow the comments on your previous post, but seriously, I don’t get the point of not celebrating New Year’s or ANY other event in sympathy with people in Gazza. If you stop celebrating, will the people who died come back or what exactly?

Moey knows my opinion about a lot of things while I might not agree with him on a lot of things he’s still one of my friends.

That said, I agree with a few comments that it none of anyones business how and what he does, if you think that stopping parties are the way so be it, and if you don’t so be it…. People its called “Free-Will” & “Personal Choice” if yo chose not to celebrate fine but don’t rain down hate on people who did. I went to a private party, which was fine and iwasn’t because all of a sudden I developed a “Moral” conscience, I just didn’t feel right about going to a huge party and being drunk and silly, I preferred the more intimate setting which is how I personally wished to celebrate, good food, drink and friends around me.
Moey did the same, the thing that really gets me are the hypocrites who all of a sudden discovered or re-discovered the “Cause”, Please come down from the moral highground you have no right to be there. None at all.
Moey has donated clothes & money which is much more then I can say for all you haters out there, so chill and take a good look at yourselves before you start bitching others, cause trust me if you really looked at yourselve dispassionatrely you’ll find 2 things, the first you aren’t a “good” person, the second you are liars and troublemakers just wanting to be smartarsed and bitch at someone.
Moey is “Free” to do what he feels like as long as he’s not hurting anyone else.
