First of All, let me just introduce Nai to you (for those who do not know it). Nai is pub/club that’s been at the forefront of Amman’s music and entertainment scene since 2001 and remains renowned for its original music, food and beverages. Its original décor was a distinctive adoption of a nostalgic feeling of the past, with modern touches of the 21st century, emphasizing an oriental style.

Friday night, while checking my facebook (since I’m a Nai fan supposedly), I found an event invitation saying the following:

This Monday (1st Dec) Nai features DJ Jad (Beirut) hitting the turntables plus party with the stars as the Amman Stand Up Comedy show will be partying at Nai to celebrate the opening of Stand Up Amman Comedy Festival this coming week.

Comedians appearing include Russell Peters, Maysoon Zayid, Ahmed Ahmed, Dean Obeidallah, Aron Kader & Maz Jobrani will be joining us at Nai so COME AND PARTY WITH THE STARS!!!

What I did is basically calling them and reserving because my flatmate wanted to see the comedians and couldn’t find tickets to the shows (too late to reserve). I called this Wesam guy 2 days on a row. I was told we will be able to see them at the place and party with them, cameras allowed. I made my reservation for me +3.

I prepared my camera, dressed up (FCUK Transformers T-shirt -Japanese Edition-, brand new DIESEL denim -Japanese store as well- and expensive D&Gs), she did too along with her boyfriend. We arrived at 10:30pm at the door, and the security was being an ass, I was like check again I called twice. He’s like no your name is not on the list, I was like WTF! So I called the reservation number and the guy picks up after my 3rd call saying wait I’ll come to the front door, he never showed up, so I was like fuck it, I’ll screw their reputation. Suddenly, the security guy let us in, but without having a table, sitting on the bar instead… My friend wanted to see the comedians desperately so I was like screw it. Let’s get inside… We paid, put our jackets a side and got inside.

They surprisingly had my reservation inside and not only that, a good table too. We ordered drinks and listened to the music while no one was dancing (the most boring DJ crowd ever, EVER!) until 1:30am and guess what? NO ONE SHOWED UP AND IT CLOSES AT 3AM.

I left pissed and wrote this, I hope someone from Atico has the balls to call/reply and explain this.
