So... Who Am I?
I’m a pretty fun-loving, even-keeled guy once you do get to know me. Based in Amman, Jordan and tend to visit Kuwait a lot. I like listening to music, watching movies, having dinner outside, clubbing in the most unwanted nightclubs, having my scotch on rocks and hanging out with my friends doing everything and nothing in particular, I also study at university and work as in Art Director in an international advertising agency at the same time... read more

I am against the closure and they way it was closed. But theres something I want to share, here in Egypt, all booze shops willingly close down completely in Ramadan.
Drinkies, a shop owned by a Christian business man started it, and now even Hard Rock cafe doesn’t serve alcoholic drinks in Ramadan. Just out of respect to whoever is fasting. I don’t see a problem in that really…
I agree with the racism part, because yes we were actually with someone who wanted to drink in Ramadan but couldn’t find drinks anywhere, we went to a lot of cafes on that day and none of them served it.
But again, I sort of am with the closure, NOT they way it was closed. With a simple smart move, Books could have still been open just not serving alcohol in Ramadan, or close on the day time and open after iftar and do whatever they want then. In this way they could be satisfying all sides.
BOOKS@CAFE is an icon in amman ? , what the fuck, i mean it is known but aint an icon to tell some guy from the other side of the world to go to in amman, i respect freedom of others , but no fucken way am gonna say that BOOKS is something to make a big deal out of it like that.
Great documentary, points out different points of views and openions, thanks for sharing!
