Interview with Ekova
In Kuwait, a land where clubs and alcohol are forbidden, one DJ decides to unleash his remixing powers, Ekova is an old friend of mine who happens to DJ, his remixes and nonstops are so good that bars such as Wolf bar in France and Lebanon play and sell his CDs, his music is also going to be played at RGB, Amman soon.
He’s just released his 3rd remix, Echo 3 -Echo/holic- (after the huge success of Echo 1 and 2) which are available to download through this website (links - end of post).
Here’s a little interview I had with him:
- Ekova, tell me… How did your passion for music begin?
I figured it out when I was a little, I used to listen to my mother and uncle’s world music collection and then fell in love with music, so I started collecting CDs.
I was 14 then. I’ve always loved world music.- Who have been your musical inspiration?
The band Ekova was my main, followed by Niyaz, Oliver Shanti & of course the famous Buddha-Bar.- What’s your main style?
My music is influenced by New Age/Chill out mixed with World Music, so you figure it out!- What are your future plans?
Eko 4and maybe exposed to more clubs and improving my skills… other things are, SECRET!

Ekova is my friend, and i always admired his talent in music, art, fashion, and makeup artist. I never doubted his ability to achieve his goals, am very happy to see his name FLASHING.

May be it’s weird to explain how fascinating is this mix created by DJ ekova. It’s really awesome that I listen to it everyday after hard work in order to relax and refresh my nerves…

I love the music, I think Ekova made a brilliant work with the different music. I like the variety and the mixture of the Mediterranean and modern music all in one.
