Would You Read a Book On Your Cell Phone?

Half of Japan’s bestselling books last year - yes, you heard it… half! — started out as cell phone-based books, according to the New York Times. Will cell phones become the medium of choice worldwide for novels and full-length non-fiction books? Would you be willing to download short electronic books to your phone from iTunes or your carrier’s web site or a third-party web site FOR A FEE?
I actually bought the Holy Quran as an ebook only to cheat in the final exam and pass (Kuwaiti High School System, under paid teachers… eh), and used to read a few books on my iPhone. I actually have a lot of books about advertising and I enjoy them on the phone more.

I don’t know… I don’t see myself reading a 400 page novel on my phone. I am a paper-book kind of person. UNLESS the reader I am using has a huge screen.
Well, see its different… 400 pages is a lot I agree!
hmmm maybe not unless the presentation is good or something tried ebooks and didnt like it prefer a real book to be honest. Unless the book is a tutorial of some sorts then having it in pdf form is diffrent….. I think I want to get a dual screen setup now
I would read it, but only on a screen like the iPhone or similar. All other smaller phones will probably be very straining on my eyes. Besides there’s another factor
Most of these screens have horrible refresh rates and are not designed to stay on for a long time
I think the iPhone or iPod touch would be perfect for such an application with their roomy gorgeous bright screen
And then there’s the problem of battery life, screen on = drain batter = few hours of use = not good
So there’s a big chance I won’t be reading books on my cell hone any time soon
I would read it, but on Amazon Kindle or something, because I guess its even better than paper books, but not even an iPhone screen is good enough for me, its really small and painful to stare at for a ling time to read, and paper books are also a pain in the ass. Too bad the Kindle or similar Sony readers are for $300 …
Ideally, I’d rather have hardcopy and electronic versions of the same book. I doubt I’d ever prefer to read a book electronically (even on a PC it’s just not as easy to read that way) but I don’t exactly carry paperbacks with me everywhere I go, either. It’d be nice to be able to load up a novel I’m reading on me cell phone when I’m waiting in line or something.
I’d rather do like you Craig!
Technology is becoming kinda silly these days…who on earth want to bother his eyes and read a book on a phone..even if it’s a Iphone..there is just something wrong about it…it’ s my opinion anyways…
on the other hand ..just thought it may be a good idea if you were on a 24 hour flight to some country…would be cool to read a book on your phone..when your done put it in your pocket
and move on…with books you need a bag …lol!
i tried with the iphone but i realized that if i did this everyday i’d probably go BLIND! that’s just unnatural lol
