One of those days… / My Top 10 Songs of 2007

Another lazy afternoon spent curled up in my undies under a nice warm blanket on the couch, talking on the phone as I listened to Katy Perry in the background. Nice relaxing day. Just the thing needed when you want to recharge…

Specially if you are suffering from “too much to do” syndrome. Sometimes you just need a break, a few hours of downtime maybe? Find a friend to talk with. It’s healthy.

**”too much to do”: socialize, work, study, freelance, eat, sleep, get online in the same day.
P.S: My hair is dark Pink now (you dare and judge me), and I finally have hair (it’s been ages since I had some).

My List of the top 10 songs of this year, 2007:

Without a doubt the song of the year for me was “Love Is Gone” from the new album by David Guetta. It kept finding it’s place in my head. It is my most listened track this year. I didn’t even have to think about placing it at number one, and the rest of the top five filled out quickly from there.

1. David Guetta “Love Is Gone”
I wasn’t really attracted to the song when I first heard it, Amazing song. not easy to leave, I don’t mind hearing it all day nonstop, groovy, neat and has a nice videoclip as well.

2. Avril Lavigne “When You’re Gone”
I gave up on Avril after “Girlfriend” but this song just got stuck in my head like “I’m With You”. It’s about missing someone when you’re separated from them for one reason or another, I think she dedicated it to her husband derrick.

3. Gavin DeGraw “I Don’t Want To Be”
I love this song… I found out about it by googling the lyrics after hearing it on Dubai One’s “One Tree Hill” commerical. It also is saying to remember your roots and where you came from. The song is saying be true to yourslef even if people try to change you.

4. Good Charlotte “The River”
The band said this song was about redemption and how they found themselves again while making this album. But I think this song is too religious to be about redemption. Anyways, it’s great.

5. The Killers “Read My Mind”
The song relates to desire for escape. Yes this is probably my favorite off the new album, as well. It’s fantastic and it’s cool to hear a song like this from the Killers. It is good to be able to see things in other’s minds to know the truth.

6. The Tea Party “Correspondences”
This song freaks me out, I have the weirdest feelings on earth while listening to it.

7. Linkin Park “What I’ve Done”
A Hit about how the band changed and about how mankind is destroying the nature and this song is all about forgiving and starting a new life with a great meaning behind the lyrics.

8. Incubus “Anna-Molly”
The song talks about a man wondering if the right woman for him really exists in the world, possibly being reflective like him from loneliness. And if she does exist, they need to get together and make a mess picturing how she might look and be. he doesn’t care about fate, even if what they’d have is better, just that he wants her to stay with him. Great song by a great band indeed

9. Kaiser Chiefs “Ruby”
Ruby! awesome song… I believe it’s about this guy wanting to date a girl he really likes but she is not interested and probably having him as a second option, and it’s killing the guy because he is really frustrated.

10. Kelly Clarkson “Never Again”
Kelly said that it was about a low point in her life. This was back when she was dating David in ‘04 and then the break up was real bad. it really tore her up. so basically she wrote this song with the emotions she had at that time and the emotions she still feels at times when she thinks of it. and this song is FREAKING AMAZING!!

There were a couple of songs just floating under the top ten, and even got moved in and out a few times. Maroon 5’s “Makes Me Wonder”, Radiohead’s “15 Steps”, David Vendetta’s “Bleeding Heart” and many more were close contenders and I had placed all in the top ten at one point or another when deciding on my list… This is my final list, I suppose.

I absolutely hated “Girlfriend”. When everyone seemed to grow up, Avril decided to become a kid again. But the song you chose as well as “Innocence” are really good.

Linkin Park’s album is definitely the best, they have a lot of pretty good hits (usually I listen to 2-3 songs in any album of any artist). LP’s album is the first I listened to more than half the songs (after Frank Sinatra). My favorite has to be “Hands Held High”.

I like Ruby, “Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, Rubyyyyy!”

Can’t say I’m familiar with half the songs on your list

I think ‘Shadow of the day’ is the best track on Linkin Park’s, Minutes to midnight, I’m finally coming around to liking this album. Probably because I heard the songs performed live
