Jordanians are bad at creating identities

Seriously, just look at Chili House or Chili Ways for example. every branch has a different way of packaging, and even food tastes different, and has no identity whatsoever. 99.9% of coffee shops share the same menu, same orders and sometimes same prices! take Abdoun’s circle for example.

If you’re not going to create something different/elegant/creative then don’t open at all. what kind of marketing procedure are you following for god’s sake!

Look at countries around you, Lebanon’s Zaatar W Zait, Kuwait’s Chocolate Bar or Burger Boutique for example. See the difference, that you can’t make.

Chili Ways/Chili House. Burgers are covered in plain foil, at least print your logo on that. maybe, special knifes, spoons & forks? do you know what’s the most common thing between all restaurants in Jordan? fast food or not.. LARGE TV SCREENS, LCDS OR WHATEVER PLAYING LOUD MUSIC ON EITHER MELODY OR ROTANA!

Learn from other countries, places like TONI&GUY, Foot Locker and TopShop have their own DVDs/Videos played on their screens tagged with their logos and creating their own identity. not randomly playing any free-to-air TV station!

In Syria for example, the local brand “inHouse cafe” (Syrian version of Starbucks) have got their own music collection CDs and they make sure to tune to VH-1 all the time in all branches.

I Salute Gerards, Maccheroni & Blue Fig for the amazing work, such brands should go regional/international for the good work. Chili House, Chili Ways, Jabri… and the list goes on, stays in Jordan and dies.

*The Chili House website designer stole Hardee’s Paris Hilton campaign photos for the flash intro, and it is also a flash modified template… 3eib!

Mind Blockage, Break & I’m Off

I’m having a difficulty blogging now. Ironically, it’s not the lack of ideas because I have so many ideas in the notepad actually, just waiting to come out, well… not until my iPhone gets fixed, taking all of my power. you know, when you eat too much corn and drink a blue fizzy drink then you end up shitting blue corn? Okay, enough with the shitty analogies.

I feel bad, because the reason why I blog is to inspire and give you readers some nasty interesting big-mouth posts specially at the end of the year. *I sound like Oprah I swear to god, re-reading this, I was like OMG, WTF?*

for the time being, the only thing I can offer is a chat between me and my friend Salem.

Salem: I want to play WoW, just crossed my mind… today I got destroyed, bloody 3 vs 1… miskeen ana broo7ee
Moey: LOL, alright.. how?
Salem: you don’t understand… I died and left the game, imagine those 3 fags just stayed there waiting for me to come back… I hope they aren’t there anymore when I log, I only killed one of them
Moey: LOOOOOOOOOL!! *yes, smiling like a mexican*
Salem: imagine once I woke up just felt like doing a few quests before I go to university, there was this guy that wanted to kill me, but i killed him then logged off and went to university, came back home after like what 7 hours… logged and he killed me.. the same guy, he has no life

Moey: OMG! hahaha
Salem: I know, it is like 7 hours!
Moey: ay shay, wth. lol
Salem: it was the same asshole, same thing happened to me a month ago, I was questing and I saw this guy killed him just because I was about to log off I wanted to piss him off before I log off, then later I log back on and he kills me. but I killed him like 20 times, he got me once and just comes back for more… he thinks he could get me
Moey: Maskeen!!
Salem: man WoW really makes me laugh
Sou: I’ve been reading and I can’t help but notice how childish this is :P , I killed him… he killed me… Ya3ni hello…life, get one seriously :P

I know, my friends are weird and we’re boring.

On the other hand, I can’t wait for my birthday (after 3 days)… I will be in Beirut for new years, enjoying a healthy new year party! unlike most of Jordan’s.

You can also check my interview with CasualPR here.

And see you in few days, some posts will be scheduled to entertain you. till then, adios amigos!
