Bye Craptop, enjoy hell. Welcome Macky

Bye Craptop, I used to like you but since your charger, heat sink and one of your fans got screwed.. I don’t miss you anymore, the parts that I really enjoyed were the 17″ WXGA HD Widescreen display and the DVD-RW, The screen was replaced on your 6th month birthday because It got broken by itself, the HD was upgraded and the DVD±RW drive with a DVD-RAM. Good bye, and I hope you find a better life somewhere else on this planet.
Your ex-owner,
Moey
I had to get rid of it, I needed a new laptop. I got the HP Pavilion (mentioned above) back in July 2005, with 1 year of extra warranty for around 600 KD (~2,100 $), I know it sounds expensive but back then majority of laptops with 1 GB RAM and 17″ display were close to that price. I was really happy with the laptop until I woke up one day to find a crack in the middle of the screen that expanded day by day, until day 4 it was unbearable, that was after 6 months of around 6-8 hours of daily use, I had to wait another month then I arrived to Kuwait and sent it to Redington (the authorized service provider for HP Pavilion notebooks in Kuwait), they told me that it wasn’t my fault and that they will replace for free although its not under warranty but it’s their problem, I was expected to wait 25 days to get it ready, instead I got it after 4 months of calling everyday and at the end threatening to tell the authorities.
Later on, since I got it. the Laptop kept freezing for unknown reason, I thought It was the RAM, I sent it back again to (you guessed it right) Redington, they checked it, replaced RAM, HD and DVD±RW drive because they couldn’t find the reason behind the freezing, I used the laptop again but this time it’d only freeze if I use softwares that need too much RAM usage, like Photoshop and many other games. It was okay until May 2007. It got on my nerves, I can’t do anything! If I ever use any software that needs 40% of RAM it freeze. The big hit was in August 2007, I was plugging the laptop to find out that the charger has melted from the inside (thanks to Syrian/Lebanese electricity) and the laptop would not work… I had enough and had to wait again, and to get it fixed it needs around 100 KD (~335 $).
Finally, my sister decided that I should get a new one because fixing this one will lead to nothing but having it screwed again, and I don’t feel like paying 500 KD to fix it the next 2 years.
I got a macbook, the one that I always wanted, Thank god and my sister for that. I can breathe again, say hi to macky.

Have a good time with Macintosh, you’ll have to download/buy everything again in MAC-Version, find devices that are MAC compatible, find repair people that repair Macs, you’ll have to get special upgrades for it, you’ll miss out on the new Vista…
Ok maybe I’m a bit pessimist. Sorry.
I’m glad that you made the jump onto the other side! I hope you have lots of fun with it!
