Stop bullshitting on Queen Alia’s and Jordan… You need to get a life!

Some people need to get a life, seriously! I was extremely pissed when I read many posts around the blogosphere about Iraqi’s being jailed in Queen Alia’s airport.

Iraqis or Saddam Hussain fans (you know who you are), haters around the globe.. you have to understand, what’s in the photos spreading online is our airport. Yes, It’s sad… we know that and we do not mind that, at least we have an airport… we do not have enough money to make it like Heathrow or Dubai’s but we like it the way it is.

We had to accept around 1 million Iraqis in our country in the last 3-4 years and they are living their normal life in Jordan and in Amman to be specific, not in Zarqa nor Irbid and Almost 1/3 of Amman is Iraqis.

The more Iraqis get into town, the more Jordanians become homeless. Even Felafels are more expensive now. Gas, Cigarettes and Rents too.

A Message to Iraqis and their fans (sorry, It might be harsh a bit): If you don’t like the way Jordan treats you then get the hell out of it! Yes, you can… there’s Syria, Lebanon, Egypt and many other countries that you can consider home. Help youself!

We are not guilty, we are not disgusting, you need to get a life! and I will never be ashamed to be a Jordanian. God bless jordan, and god bless our security forces, Jordan still has men who will give up their life for our security.

and the question goes to you Silly Bahraini Girl (quoting Batir Wardam), What would happen if we direct 750,000 Iraqis to Bahrain instead of Jordan and cause a demographic, economic and cultural shock as we are suffering now? There’s also another option for Iraqis who can’t afford moving out (according to Bakkouz), I suggest they ask for help from the many other wealthier iraqi residents in Jordan for i’m positive that since iraqis treat each other with such respect, love and humanity, that they’ll rush just like the brothers they are to provide assistance to them to facilitate the move as soon as possible!

    Moey,
Emotions will get us no where, Most of the Iraqies are good people who just want to live peacefully, they just want to get their children away from explosions and death, if 1% of them pissed you and me off that doesn’t make the other 99% less human, What jordan needs is more pressure on the international community to do their duties toward those people who were made homeless because of an unlawful invasion. Iraq, jordan and palastine are the strategic depth of all arabs and muslims, Iraq is and was our back just like we were their heart.

I was simply pissed because no one looked at the jordanian perspective, I was pissed more because people generalized about all jordan for the action of a pissed off officer!

You are so funny and making sense habibi. I am not going to descend into this Iraq/Jordan crap, but I never judged an entire country because of the actions of some of its inhabitants, I’ve met nice Jordanians so I won’t curse, but I think your ‘racism’ and ‘hatred’ has to do with how u feel people hate u for some reason. Stop it man, get an arm.

    Best of luck
    A concerned pal.

Actually Moey, people who talk about the airport incident do have a point. It is shameful to see things like this happening in our country. Yes, I am not with those who say that they are embarrassed to be Jordanian, and I would always be pround of being one, and I am proud of the way we handled the way situation and helping those hundred of thousands Iraqi’s to live among us, but when we treat some other people inhumanly, we should raise our voices and talk about it.

There is no need to bash the country at large, just to point our fingers to the injustice and ask for better solutions.

Moey, This certainly isn’t the usual you… I can’t believe you said that! If other Arab countries suck with their treatment to Iraqi’s then it’s no excuse for us to give them bad time…

It has nothing to do with Iraqi’s, if we do something wrong we should work on getting it fixed… no matter what others do!

& what’s that story about bragging that we have an Airport… and some don’t! are we teasing each other now… Why do we generalize on Iraqis, some sacrificed their lives on our soil, and some are not worth a nickle… like evey other nationality on earth… Jordanians included… There was a time when Iraq had universities and we didn’t how would you feel if you heard one say “at least we have universities, if you dont like how Jordanian students are treated then go find someplace else!?”

Why can’t we face this as grown ups and just realize that somewhere, somehow somebody who is Jordanian did a mistake… that doesn’t mean that Jordanians suck, it simply means that this particular person sucks…

What hurts me the most that such statements of hate and racism are coming from a YOU, from people who are well educated and leave a mark in people’s opinions… I never thought you’de be dragged to this senseless defence on something that is so obviously wrong…

It’s sad to see how people are bashing a whole country for a couple of officers’ actions. And no one really noticed the fact that the Iraqi “victim” hid important information from the officer - He probably ran a check on his family and out they’re in Amman yet he said otherwise. This is a blunt lie and could result in having the man in court!

If we don’t need more iraqis, we shouldn’t allow them to stay in Jordan. But there’s no need to treat them (or anybody) with disrespect. Sorry Moey, but I didn’t like the gesture!

I am amazed at how Jordanians who try to project a western image show an attitudes that has little to do with western values of tolerance and compassion. I am finding the islamists increasingly more palatable when compared to jordan’s psuedo-westernized elite and this frightens me. is this what we are left with today? islamism or narcissism? whatever happened to liberalism? can liberalisms take hold in non-democratic societies? i don’t think so.

This’s just sad, there’s no way Arabs would ever became reasonable, I’m Jordanian my self and running away in a couple of months from the stupidity, ignorance and arrogance going on in this place, Jordanians started to believe for some reason that we’re a super damn power!! We could never made it without Iraq, however enjoy what you have all, and who ever could get the hell out of here just do it, beautiful place with awful people!
