My Favorite Piercing

Ever since I started listening to pop music when I was a young boy, I’ve wanted to get my eyebrow pierced. Where did I get inspiration? Yep. It was the famous “5ive” british boy pop band’s front man Jason aka J. the Coolest-Man-Alive as I used to call him. I had to have been about 11 or 12, and I fell in love with his piercing.

It didn’t stop there. I grew up, and got into rock/metal music between the ages of 15 and now, I heard about Evanescence on the radio, and I loved Amy Lee’s voice. Googled around and checked videos sites and tracked files on p2p sharewares and waited for countdowns on MTV then finally was able to see what she looked like, I was like, “Oh! She’s got her eyebrow pierced, it looks AMAZING“. Then along came other bands like Korn, with eyebrow-pierced Jonathan Davis, and the more I saw it, the more and more I wanted one. Not to mention the hottie “Fergie” from the Black-Eyed Peas, her eyebrow piercing looks really neat located right at the arch of her eyebrow, in the center.

Finally, after begging for one, and of course my parents went nuts when I asked them, and they refused, I saved up some money, and researching tattoo and piercing places in Amman, I found two shops (both located at Sweifieh), Karakeeb and Top Fashion, The piercest at Karakeeb does it with a gun (normal ear pierce gun) for around JD 30 while Top Fashion’s piercest does it with a needle (so safe, in case you don’t want to lose sight) for 45 JD.

I made my decision and had it done at Top Fashion, The place is great. They have an excellent reputation for being the cleanest. Their piercist has trained in the states, and is very good at what he does. My piercest, Fahmi Al-Qawasmi distracted my attention with discussions, sprayed my eyebrow with a medical spray, and TA-DA My eyebrow is pierced. It hurt, but not near as much as I thought it would. He did a great job, and I’d really like to go to him again for a next piercing (if I ever decide to have another one). He was nice, he made me feel comfortable, and he hates needles too. I told him needles make me nervous in general, and he did a good job of making me feel better.

Anyway, after getting, it all cleaned up and nice, he asked me to keep the medical ring he put for a week then replace it and put on the new one, well… I couldn’t wait, I changed it after 3 days. And I’m proud, it’s been up there for 6 months and I still love it! I’m not thinking of taking it off, and I think it looks great.

well when i had my 3 tattoos around 6 years ago, it was agonizing! but my last 2 were like a breeze! i even did one without local sedation! finding a specialist who u feel comfortable with and is super clean is the best thing u can do when it comes to skin.. i remember when i got my peirces bi amman uni years, it was hell! when i came back to dubai and did the remaining ones i wanted also far2at ktir, and yes needles are the best way to go about it. even if ur peircing the tip of ur ear, its safer, easier, and wont leave a scar if u wish to take off the stud at any point in ur life.

i like ur peirce, not very common in amman, which makes it all the more rocking!
